Construction of Stonehenge Begins
People without writing moved 30-ton stones 240km.
It was built over a thousand years without writing or metal. It is believed to have been both a calendar and a temple, as it is aligned so that the summer solstice sun rises exactly over the Heel Stone. It is evidence that such collaboration was possible even without a state.

Royal Tombs of Abydos
The first kings were buried together with their retainers.
The tombs of the kings of the First Dynasty of Egypt are lined up in Abydos. Small tombs of servants, dwarfs, and hunting dogs are attached nearby, showing that human sacrifice existed. Within a few generations, this custom disappeared and was replaced by figurines.
